Better performance, more functionality.
The new student desktop works with ‘Athena’, offering Windows 7, Internet Explorer 9 and Microsoft Office 2010.
There are new TCs, and all PCs are upgraded. To enable the increasing use of laptops and tablets, i.e. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), the total number of computers in the library has been reduced to almost half of the original number. WIFI network capacity has been increased.
Another major change has been made in the students’ I-drive. In a few days’ time this capacity will be multiplied by five to 250 MB, which also makes scanning easier.
The multimedia applications and the USB connectivity are highly improved in the new TC’s as well.
