With the start of this new academic year, the Student Desktop has slightly changed. Maastricht University offers a new environment: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

At first glance, nothing has changed in its appearance. With VDI however, you have your own virtual desktop, with its own advantages, e.g. memory, dedicated processors.

Long-cherished wishes

VDI further professionalises your Student Desktop. VDI fulfils two important questions from our students: the provision of web browser Google Chrome and the improvement of multimedia (the support of full-HD in YouTube etc).

Off Campus

With Student Desktop Anywhere you are able to start up a fully working windows environment in a web browser, with all the software preinstalled offered by your faculty. This feature might be useful when you work with an IMac, a Linux based PC or Tablet. Now you always have access to your own UM workspace.
