Canvas Support Portal

A year ago, we started the transition project to migrate from EleUM to Canvas as the new learning management system at Maastricht University (UM). We also launched the Going Canvas website to keep you informed on all we did to prepare making use of Canvas at the start of the academic year 2020-2021. The moment Canvas got introduced in period 1 courses, we launched a support portal where you can find everything you need to know about Canvas.

What to expect?

The Canvas Support Portal will contain information for teachers and students about what Canvas offers and how to use it within your course. Next to an overview of all the functionalities in and connected to Canvas, you can find information on:

• The use of Canvas within the UM
• What teachers can do in courses
• How to contact faculty support
• What other applications can be integrated
• What training is available
• Guides and videos

We also offer entrances to related portals on tools and how to use these in education. You can think of digital assessment, video for education or a wheel combining educational scenarios and which tools can facilitate these. We also refer to the UM portal on online education.

You can find the Support Portal from within Canvas (e.g. clicking the question mark button in the left blue menu). In due course, the Canvas Support Portal will replace the Going Canvas website.
