Combine slides and (your) talking head

13 Sep 2020

An often-used format is the talking head. Only the person (visible from waist and up) talking to you (in front of what s/he is talking about for instance), sometimes in combination with a whiteboard, an object or slides.

A ‘talking head’ video actually combines a slide presentation with the presenter or teacher, as if you are providing a lecture.
Often, the slides will fill most of the screen, while the talking head only fills a small corner.

All UM staff members can download the MyMediasite desktop recorder. This tool allows you to easily record and manage videos, such as knowledge clips, instruction videos or even screencasts or and lectures using your webcam from your desktop or laptop.

Note: MacOS Catalina or Mojave do not support MyMediasite software.
