Systematic searching is an important academic skill. It will help you to find relevant literature for your research. Additionally, it enables you to identify the gaps in current research and to avoid bias when searching for literature.

Systematic searching is an important academic skill. It will help you to find relevant literature for your research. Additionally, it enables you to identify the gaps in current research and to avoid bias when searching for literature.
In this workshop, you will receive information about systematic searching and you will work on a systematic search strategy that you can use while writing your introduction for your internship report.
This workshop will be followed by a Q&A session around Easter next year, in which you can ask specific questions.
Learning objectives:
After this workshop, you will be able to develop a search strategy in order to find relevant literature for your research project.
Target group: Extrenal students of MBS2003.

Prerequisites: Bring the research question of your internship to the workshop. Please also bring three articles that are important for your research and write down their PMID codes. The PMID code can be found in the PubMed database. It is listed when you click a reference for more information.
It is recommended that you have a look at the canvas course of MBS2003 before participating in this workhop. In the module ‘Systematic Literature Search Strategies and Reference Management’ you will find many useful resources that will help you get started and make the most of this workshop.
