    We are excited to present the Highlights 2023, showcasing our achievements from the past year. Maastricht University Library continues to innovate itself in response to the increasing diversity of scientific information resulting from digitisation. Consequently, the library plays an active role in making scientific information available and supporting its use for education and research.

  • Logo Database Global Health

    Access to public health literature with Global Health database

    The University Library recently started offering access to the Global Health database (EBSCO). Global Health is a database that provides a truly global perspective on public health, indexing key literature not covered by other databases.

  • Open Education Week at Maastricht University

    Every year in March Open Education Week takes place as a week-long series of global events. This year Open Education Week is scheduled from 4 March to 8 March. The aim of this event is to increase awareness, highlight initiatives, and showcase the influence opening up aspects of education has on communities and individuals. Throughout Open Education Week, various online and local events will take place, including workshops, webinars, discussions, debates, and other activities, catering to both the general public and specific audiences such as faculty or students.

  • EAR II and the CopyrightCheck tool

    The Easy Access Agreement 2023 (EAR II) is an agreement between the Universities of the Netherlands (UNL) and the collective management organisation Uitgeversorganisatie voor Onderwijslicenties (UvO) regarding the use of extracts (fragments) from publications for educational purposes, such as PDFs, images, etc. This agreement revises the existing Reader agreement concerning the use of extracts in (digitally) delivered educational materials. At the initiative of UNL and UvO, SURF (cooperative association of Dutch educational and research institutions) collaborated closely with universities to develop the CopyrightCheck tool.
