Quality Education and Innovation

An event about ITK, Quality Agreements and preparing competitive proposals

Maastricht University (UM) is currently preparing a plan for quality agreements which aim to improve UM education. At the same time both the NRO/Comenius and SURF/OCW programmes are launching incentive schemes for education grants just before the summer. Using the lessons learned from the past, we want to invite you to an information session to think along how to combine forces within a jointly supported quality community.

The UM, in particular the Executive Board and the University Council, is currently preparing a plan for quality agreements which aim to improve our education. This is required by the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science and is linked to the allocation of the study advance means. With these agreements UM strives to further improve educational quality, by further investing in small-scale education, educational facilities, professional development of teaching staff and student guidance. These are also the topics put on the agenda by the national student unions.

Education grant programmes

At the same time both the NRO/Comenius and SURF/OCW programmes are launching incentive schemes for education grants just before the summer. Using the lessons learned from the past, we want to invite you to think along how to combine forces within a jointly supported quality community. This offers opportunities to work towards innovative and sustainable projects and promote an optimal learning experience for students of Maastricht University.

Information session around quality and innovation

We value your opinion as active members of the UM education community. Many of you have been involved in the preparation for the ITK, have acquired funding from SURF or Comenius or are actively involved in UM’s education otherwise. We want to start creating a university-wide community on quality and innovation of education and give you the opportunity to:

  • get informed about the final preparations of the ITK
  • share your views on the proposed UM quality agreements
  • learn about Dutch education grant opportunities and proposal preparation.

To this end we organise an information session on 7 June in the Van der Valk hotel in Maastricht:

11.00 Plenary meeting and break out sessions
12.30 Poster lunch (on previous UM projects within Comenius and SURF)
& wrap up of break out sessions
14.00 Parallel sessions on Dutch education grants and proposal preparation:

 I.            SURF/OCW track
II.            Comenius/NRO track

If you want to join (part of) this session, we kindly invite you to register and make your choice for one of the parallel tracks:
