Everyone reads Wikipedia. Start contributing to it by adding your knowledge to Wikipedia and using your expertise to enrich Wikipedia. Wikipedia also has its principles and there are pitfalls to watch out for. Because it is often easier to ask questions in person, a couple of passionate Wikipedia volunteers organise three wikicafés this fall. You can ask experienced volunteers questions about Wikipedia and its sister projects. Both students and staff are welcome.

During the afternoons you can work on your articles in a relaxing atmosphere. Or you can enter our Wikicafé if you have questions. Experienced Wikipedia editors are there to help you.

Honorary doctorate and Erasmus Prize

In 2014 and 2015 various Wikipedia sessions were organised at Maastricht University, as freely accessible workshops and as part of faculty courses. In January 2015 students awarded the founder of Wikipedia Jimmy Wales an honorary doctorate during the 39th Foundation Day. Late November our annual Wikipedia conference is organised and on 25 November Wikipedia receives the prestigious Erasmus Prize in the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. Wikipedia is hot! Millions of people use it and almost everyone knows about it. It is time to participate!
