Getting in touch with the locals

Jesuit travelers who arrived in China from Europe were never left alone to their faith. In fact, the Jesuit order in the XVII century was a huge community and had contacts worldwide. Every new Jesuit that arrived had contacts with those already in the country who helped him to integrate himself to the new country and get acquainted with the local culture.

And now, in the 21st century… we are doing the same thing!!

We got in contact with some ‘friends of friends’ Chinese students – locals of Beijing – who will show us around and help us orientate the first days! And we are using WeChat – the Chinese WhatsApp- to communicate!

We also have drinks planned with Chinese Alumni from Maastricht University in this lovely bar of Beijing!
