In this workshop, we will show you how to develop a sensitive search strategy for your area of expertise within PubMed. In addition, we will also demonstrate how to translate this search strategy to other databases such as Embase (together with the common pitfalls). Between explanation and demonstration, there is also room for you to work on setting up the search for your own area of expertise – ensuring that you will not leave the workshop empty-handed. At the end of the workshop, we will give instructions on how to receive alerts for new papers published under the search strategy you created.
Learning objectives:
After this 2 hour workshop, you will be able to:
– Create a sensitive search strategy in PubMed
– Translate search strategies from PubMed to Embase and other databases
– Set up a search alert within your area of expertise
