A variety of services
Randwyck Library’s study spaces are designed for various uses, including both focused study and collaborative work. While traditional classes are not held here, the library offers its own educational activities and workshops focusing on information, digital, and data literacy. Additionally, the library supports its users by providing Digital Labs, such as a DIY Podcast Studio. The newest addition is the Anatomy Room, named after Vesalius, equipped with a 3D scanner and anatomy models for 3D exploration and hands-on experience. Furthermore, starting in September, the library will pilot a Digital Skills Corner to inform students about online safety and IT-related questions. Through initiatives like these, the library helps users be more efficient in their learning, teaching, and research efforts.

Inspiring collaborations and exhibitions
The library facilitates collaborations with external partners to inspire visitors on multiple levels. The current exhibition in the Information Lounge is a collaboration with the Special Collections and MUMC+. In the Well–being & Inspiration Area, a collaboration with Brightlands aims to inspire visitors in their career development. The library is open to extending more collaborations within the UM community and welcomes ideas for this rotating exhibition, making it a vibrant gathering place that engages and inspires.
Access to scientific resources
With the availability of resources, the library contributes to the principles of Open Science by improving the discoverability of scientific knowledge, a concept also reflected in the open space of the renovated library. Besides its vast collection of physical books, the library uses interactive QR codes within the collections to link to digital resources related to each theme. In addition to making resources more accessible, the library is committed to ensuring their reusability. This includes making the Special Collections available both physically and digitally and featuring these historical books in the Randwyck Library.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive library
Randwyck Library is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its services and facilities. The design of the Information Lounge and the Well–being & Inspiration Area shows its commitment to being welcoming and accessible to everyone. By working with diverse partners and ensuring fair access to digital tools and resources, the library strives to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. This dedication is central to the library’s role in building a sense of community for all its users.
