The XR facilities are designed as collaborative environments where groups can actively work with XR applications. Because content and technology are closely intertwined in XR, this requires specific technical and spatial support. The University Library facilitates this by offering general XR sessions, while several program-specific applications are supported within education.
The upcoming facilities include two XR Labs (one in the Inner-City Library and one in the Randwyck Library), a total of 30 XR headsets across three rooms, and four 3D printers. Together, these technologies enable immersive learning experiences and hands-on experimentation in both education and research contexts.
The University Library welcomes collaboration and is keen to exchange ideas with students, teaching staff, and researchers. By working together, these spaces can continue to evolve and better support innovative and responsible uses of XR in teaching and learning.
