‘‘Let’s try it out.’’

‘‘It is important for me to be in an environment where the attitude is ‘Let’s try it out’. I have always seen myself as someone who values exploration not for the sake of it, but to understand how things work. This role in open science and education is about empowering others, teachers and students, to embrace this mindset.’’

‘‘Our efforts can make a generational difference.’’

‘‘I wanted to work in the education sector because I believe it is a place where our efforts can make a generational difference. In everything I do, I recognise there is an impact, even if it is not immediate. Making decisions today may lead to benefits five to ten years down the line, and being able to navigate what that future might look like in one or two years’ time is highly motivating for me. It builds a sense of contributing to a larger purpose, which is very fulfilling.’’

‘‘Living in Maastricht has been an easy transition for me.’’

‘‘This city provides the ideal environment for my personal development, offering a calm and serene atmosphere that contrasts with the busyness of city life. Because of this, living in Maastricht has been an easy transition for me. I have also been taking Dutch classes, and attending them with colleagues from other UM departments makes it a collaborative experience.’’
