Who can use PebblePad?
PebblePad is available to all UM students and employees. You can create an account and build your own personal portfolio. PebblePad is used in the curriculum of a number of UM programs across five faculties (FHML, FPN, FSE, LAW and SBE). In the upcoming years, more programs will start using PebblePad.

Basic terminology
These basic terms are helpful to understand before getting started. Click on the links in each item for more detailed information on the PebblePad help website.
Pebble+
Pebble+ is your private and personal learning space where you create your portfolio or fill-in workbooks and templates. Everyone who uses PebblePad has their own Pebble+ account. Everything you create in Pebble+ is not visible to others, unless you decide to share.
ATLAS
ATLAS is the institutional assessment space. When a student creates work in Pebble+, it can be submitted to ATLAS for assessment by a teacher or tutor.
Assets
All the items a student creates within PebblePad or uploads into the platform are called Assets (they appear in the Asset Store). Assets are personal and not visible to others unless shared.

Resources
Resources are mostly created by teachers / learning designers and made available to their students, so that they can input information. Resources appear in the Resource Store (or can be accessed via ATLAS). When a resource is opened and saved, it becomes an Asset. A resource can be a single page (form) or a complete workbook.

TIP! You can use the icons to distinguish between Assets and Resources. Asset icons are square and are fully coloured while Resource icons are round and have outline colour only.
Templates
Templates are single pages designed to provide some structure. Rather than starting with a blank page, a template provides a series of prompts. For example: a reflection – or evaluation form.
Workbook
A Workbook is a binder that contains multiple template pages. Workbooks are mostly designed by UM staff and are used for assessment or reflection that runs over a longer period.
Where to create assets
PebblePad enables a student to create a variety of assets, such as a portfolio, a page, or a blog. These assets can be shared with others, the internet or for assessment in ATLAS.
The Get Creative menu can be accessed via the Burger menu or the Get Creative panel in Pebble+.
