Did you already receive e-mails of publishers promising you low-cost, fast publishing? You might be dealing with a publisher that is out on fast profit and breaches the promise to submit articles to a good quality peer review. Above all, the researcher will be tied up with a hefty bill after publication.
Check the website Scholarly Open Access for a list of questionable publishers to make sure you are not dealing with a fake publisher. For criteria how to determine whether a journal is a real Open Access journal, go to the Scholarly Communication Program website of Columbia University Libraries.
