Introduction to Turnitin Originality

The Turnitin Originality software helps detect and prevent plagiarism when students hand in assignments and papers.

Content: In this 1-hour session you will get an introduction to Turnitin Originality in Canvas. After this session, you will know:

  • How to create an assignment in Canvas with a Turnitin plagiarism report;
  • How to find and understand a Turnitin similarity report in Canvas;
  • How to submit an assignment in Turnitin without using Canvas.

Learning objectives: After attending this session, you will be familiar with the settings of Turnitin Originality in Canvas, and you know how to understand the similarity report created by Turnitin Originality.

Target Group: Teachers, program coordinators, block planning groups, and Board of Examiners at the UM.

Language: English or Dutch.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of how to use Canvas as a teacher.

Course format: Presentation and Q&A.
