Qualitative FAIR Data

This course is for researchers working with qualitative research material that are willing to explore how FAIR could fit their work.

Course Description

Qualitative research materials (e.g. interview transcripts, focus groups, policy notes) can benefit from the application of FAIR principles, to enable for discovery and reuse. In this workshop, we focus on relevant regulations and community standards for qualitative research. For example, we learn how different levels of processing of data (e.g. raw vs anonymized data) affect the access levels that can be applied (e.g. open or restricted access).

Learning objectives
By the end of this workshop, you will:

  • understand the relevance of reuse of Qualitative data in the context of Open Science
  • be aware of the challenges in Qualitative data reuse
  • understand which kinds of data (i.e. files) should be made FAIR
  • be aware of the current legislation and university regulations

Target group:

Researchers and academic staff. This workshop is provided at a beginner level.

Workshop format: Online via Zoom (after registration, you will receive a link for the session). The workshop takes 2 hours.
