Three years ago the University Library founded the EdL@b, a playground for teachers, students and companies to experiment with new tools in education. While the EDLAB, the new UM institute focusing on educational innovation, will open its doors at Tapijn soon, Ed and his colleagues from the library e-learning support team are here to stay as well!

After carefully redefining our offer, we launch our new service on April 1st: EdICTed. We extend a warm welcome to staff and students for advice and support on trending topics in e-learning and the use of emerging technologies for education and how to embed these technologies in your course and the electronic learning environment.

The upcoming period we will focus on video for education (e.g. videoclips, weblectures and dedicated media training) and serious games (e.g. using smart and virtual reality glasses). But we also perform pilots in line with EleUM, like alternative tools for plagiarism checks. Of course we invite you to share your ideas on other emerging technologies for learning and instruction!

You can visit us at the Inner City Library (Grote Looiersstraat 17), in what we have now coined ‘The EdICT’. On our new website and Facebook page we will keep you posted on upcoming events, pilots and opportunities for collaboration.
