Content
Participants will learn the required and recommended steps for dataset deposit, how the review process is handled, and the available options for controlling access and reuse of research data. The session will cover best practices for metadata quality, handling sensitive or anonymised data, applying licences, and updating dataset versions. We will also discuss workflows, technical limitations, and compliance requirements.
Learning objectives
By the end of this workshop, you will:
- Learn Maastricht University’s requirements and recommended practices for depositing datasets in DataverseNL, such as metadata quality, anonymisation, and file format guidelines.
- Examine the dataset review process from both depositor and curator perspectives, i.e. feedback handling, access controls, and publication options.
- Examine relevant features such as embargo periods, restricted files, and custom terms of use for sensitive data.
- Update and link datasets in compliance with DataverseNL policies, including versioning rules and integration with external platforms.
