Working towards the academic library of the future

At Maastricht University (UM) Library, we collaborate with partners across the Netherlands to make research data and digital collections easier to find, connect, and reuse.

Our library experts collaborate with universities, heritage institutions, and national organisations to improve the interaction between research systems and data. They do this through national networks such as the Dutch Interoperability Network (DIN), the Linked Data in Research working group (within the National Coordination Point for Research Data Management, LCRDM), and the Dutch Digital Heritage (NDE) Linked Data Group.

Together, we explore ways to make research information more open, connected, and reusable. This includes linking research data across disciplines and connecting digital heritage collections so they can be discovered and used in new ways.

By co-leading and contributing to these national initiatives, the UM Library helps build a more open and future-proof research environment. This means that researchers gain easier access to high-quality, reusable data and new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
