The acquisitions list is designed to provide you with an overview of materials recently acquired by the University Library, with a WorldShare link to the LibSearch record. It encompasses books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, digital resources, and other types of media and will be updated each month.
Getting started
You can access the acquisitions list on the library website. Navigate to the “Resources” section, and then select “About UM Library Collections,” or simply use this direct link.
To get started, click on a month to view the new materials for that specific period. Additionally, you can filter by faculty (groups). To remove a selection, click the “Clear selections” button.
Exclusions from the Acquisitions List:
Please note that the following items are not included in the acquisition list:
- Titles of e-books and e-journals included in packages.
A package refers to a collection of electronic books or journals that are bundled together into one combined interface and made available by libraries. - Journals that are renewed.
Renewed journals were already part of the library’s collection and are not considered new acquisitions. Therefore, they may not appear in the acquisitions list. - Title changes of journals.
When a journal changes its title, it is often due to a rebranding, merging with another journal, or undergoing editorial changes. In such cases, the content of the journal usually remains the same, with only the title being updated. Since the journal’s content remains unchanged, it is not considered a new acquisition for the library. Instead, it is treated as a continuation of the existing subscription or access.
