The criteria were developed in a collaboration between three library teams: Digital Literacy, Information Literacy and Systematic Review Support. This showcases how predominant AI content is becoming in academia. Our team developed a first set of evaluation criteria to assess academic literature retrieved with the help of AI. These were tested at the Global Citizenship Education Symposium, refined based on feedback, and evaluated again at VOGIN (a conference for information professionals). The result is a practical handout that we presented during the UM Education Days in June.
Next to the handout, we have added a literature search prompt to our prompt library. We are currently also developing an online learning module.
These resources expand our existing offers, like our module on the responsible use of generative AI. To complement our new resources, we have also created a workshop for students covering responsible use of GenAI, prompting, and using AI for literature searching, as well as a webinar for researchers around responsible use of AI in literature reviews.
