Designed for teachers from all disciplines, the workshop focuses on making informed, responsible choices about digital tools, platforms, and AI-based systems, without the expectation that you do everything yourself. Participants will reflect on their current tool use, consider questions of data, privacy, and continuity, and explore how openness and reuse can support more sustainable teaching.

During the session, participants will work with our AI-based Open Educational Resource (OER) Discovery Tool to quickly find high-quality, openly licensed materials that can be reused or adapted for their own courses. The workshop concludes with practical guidance and a clear reuse roadmap tailored to each participant’s teaching context.

Katja Shcherbakova, Project Leader Digital Literacy and AI for teachers:

“By combining digital literacy with Open Educational Resources, we show that future-proof teaching starts with informed, reusable practices. Digital sovereignty means understanding your choices as a teacher and knowing where you have control over your tools, data, and teaching.”

The workshop is open to all UM teachers, with no prior experience in open educational materials required. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop and, if possible, a course they are currently teaching. Register now for our workshop on 4 March!
