The Research Computing Support (RCS) team, with assistance from external technical experts, has stabilised the cluster sufficiently to continue essential software upgrades.
Recovery and support
A series of upgrades to the cluster management software is being implemented to restore stability and ensure uninterrupted data access. These recovery steps are complex and data loss on the DSRI is unfortunately inevitable. The RCS team is committed to resolving this issue as quickly and safely as possible and will provide DSRI users with transparent updates throughout the process via email. Since the update to the cluster management software, users have been kept closely informed, and they were asked to create a backup of their data prior to the update.
Researchers affected by the downtime or data inaccessibility are encouraged to contact the RCS team via the contact form below. Alternative computing solutions are available, and our team will guide suitable options on a case-by-case basis to minimise disruption to your work.
Timeline and updates
The DSRI service is expected to remain inaccessible until at least the end of September. Users will be kept informed of progress, and the service will be restored as soon as recovery actions are completed. In addition to the email updates sent to DSRI users, any new developments will be posted on our DSRI status page.
Our priority is to support your research needs. Please do not hesitate to contact the RCS team; they are happy to advise on solutions and alternative options. We apologise for the inconvenience and sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore the DSRI service reliably.
