Engaging your audience on a distance
During your (online) lecture, you can invite your audience to respond. You can for instance have them share ideas on a topic, answer to a poll or offer quizzes to adapt the content of your lecture to the needs of the group.
UM has a license for Wooclap to facilitate audience response during live meetings. You can either use this on campus as well as in your online session.
Tip for using Wooclap in combination with your powerpoint presentation:
When you make use of a Powerpoint or Keynote presentation and want to use Wooclap, you can consider uploading the presentation in Wooclap instead of switching between the two tools. This is even more advisable if you lecture online, because it prevents you from switching between applications (requiring you to stop and start sharing your screen to do so).
Note:
- you lose animations in your (uploaded) presentation (but you can partly solve this by copying slides in the source presentation before uploading)
- you cannot click on urls (e.g. to start a video), but this can be ‘worked around’ by adding the video as a Wooclap-entry.
