The signing will be preceded by a lecture from a leading voice in the field: Ludo Waltman, Professor of Quantitative Science Studies and Scientific Director at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University, and one of the initiators of the Barcelona Declaration itself. His lecture, “From promise to action”, will explore how the Declaration can drive real change in research assessment and scholarly communication. A drinks reception will follow the formal signing. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.
