It is within the UM Library’s vision to incorporate a living lab, emphasising the interaction between conducting scientific research involving the UM community. By doing this, the library does not only provide access to scientific information but also facilitates the creation of scientific information.

Pepper, the service robot, was introduced in the Inner City Library. Up until now, Pepper stayed in a closed room where it was tested by students to develop the robot further. On 15 January 2024, the next phase of this project will kick off, as Pepper will appear in the public area of the Inner City Library. Visitors can ask Pepper for information about services or help navigating the location. Pepper will stay there for a maximum of six weeks to stimulate the use of the library’s information services.

We invite you to meet Pepper in the Inner City Library from 15 January.
