The Data Processing & Storage Finder will help you search the right tool for data handling within the research life cycle, depending on your needs.

DSRI

The DSRI (Data Science Research Infrastructure) allows the creation of virtual environments to perform computing jobs and data analysis.

UM Library

The University Library hosts Data Stewardship Services and Research Computing Support coordinated by the Research Support and Development department. These services align with university policies, such as the Open Science policy, and Faculty needs. For instance, the Faculty Data Stewards help researchers with data management plans, FAIR data management, and data publishing.

Tools and services provided by other service providers

ICTS

The ICT Service Centre (ICTS) provides services in information and communication technology, such as the university’s computer network or the UM’s networked storage. It supports research data management by maintaining servers and applications and offering software solutions.

DataHub

DataHub offers data management services for the Maastricht UMC+ and Maastricht University, acting as a data broker aiming to facilitate data reuse. DataHub services support researchers by providing secure data storage and management solutions. The MDR (Maastricht Data Repository) is an example, offering an easy-to-use platform for storing and sharing research data securely.

MEMIC

MEMIC (Center for Data and Information Management) operates at the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences. They provide tools and consultancy for research data management, focusing on data security, data quality, and privacy. For instance, they have developed the LDOT tool that helps researchers manage study participant information and their consent, complying with privacy regulations and is suited for any type of research.

Corporate Information Office (CIO)

The CI Office guides, enables and accelerates UM’s digital development and innovation. Regarding RDM, the team supports digitalization strategies in research. The team advises and supports the faculties, service centers, and the executive board on digitalization, digital innovation, and the (agile) transformation of the university.

SURF

SURF is a cooperative association of Dutch educational and research institutions, providing digital services and encouraging knowledge sharing. SURF supports RDM with tools like the SURF Research Drive for secure data storage and collaboration or the SURF Research Cloud for scalable data computing and analysis.
