Activate the UM VPN service and your device will communicate with the Internet via the Maastricht University. You can use your device as if you’re on campus.
Remote access
Maastricht University students and staff members, as well as azM staff members have off-campus access to protected services and resources, like databases, e-journals and e-books of the UM Library.
Qualtrics – Online survey tool
Build, distribute, and analyse online surveys. Qualtrics is available to Maastricht University staff and students and can be used for teaching, research and business purposes.

Virtual Research Environment – VRE (MS SharePoint)
The Virtual Research Environment (VRE) combines filesharing, communication and collaboration in one tool. The University Library offers the VRE powered by Microsoft Sharepoint as a collaborative platform. The VRE facilitates the production of joint research papers. Multiple collaborators from different institutions and locations can edit shared document within a VRE.
Scanning sources for research projects
Do you have documents you would like to use in your research? You could use our expertise in scanning, indexing and storing scientific and academic sources.
Ordering literature
UM staff and students can make suggestions for ordering books for the library collection. UM teachers can order titels for the Learning and Resource Centre or change references in Reference List.
Keylinks Learning Resources
Course coordinators can store all literature related to a course on one place: KeyLinks Learning Resources. Every course coordinator has access to this University Library service in order to add the needed literature. Students can make use of it through Canvas.
