New library access policy

by | 19 Dec 2018

On 1 January 2019 the library’s access policy changes, the aim is to focus on study and research support for UM students and employees.

Necessary measures

The main task of the University Library is providing study support for students and education and research support for the scientists of Maastricht University and MUMC+.

The library offers learning spaces, collections and other facilities. To cope with the ever-increasing pressure on these services, we need to take measures. As from 1 January 2019, the access policy will change.

What are the consequences?

For UM, AVM and OU students and staff, MUMC+ employees and UM alumni and UM pensioners nothing changes. Other, external, users will still be welcome in our library locations, but they need to make an appointment beforehand.

By purchasing a ‘visitor card’, access to the library and, for example, the special collections is possible. More information on the ‘visitor card’ and the options can be found on the website, https://library.maastrichtuniversity.nl/services/librarycard-membership/
