This week is Open Access Week: a global event, now in its 7th year, promoting Open Access as a new norm in scholarship and research. In this context, University Library highlights a couple of services and tools which aim to promote Open Access.

Want to check whether the publisher or the journal allows you to publish your article in Open Access via the institutional repository?

You can use:

sherpa_romeo

SHERPA/RoMEO lists publisher copyright and self-archiving policies. To see what publishers allow in terms of self-archiving, check the publisher or journal name in this directory. Listings also indicate whether or not the publisher has a ‘paid access’ option with direct links to the specific publisher policies on paid access

OFFER

During the Open Access Week, until 1 November library staff will  run the Open Access check for you. If your publication is already registered in the Research Information System METIS, you can send the full text for storage in the repository. After the library’s check on SHERPA/RoMEO, the publication will become available for everyone. You can email your full text to: ub-edocuments@maastrichtuniversity.nl

If you have questions about Open Access policy and support, please contact library OA consultant Coen van Laer: E c.vanlaer@maastrichtuniversity.nl
