Need a place to study? During the upcoming exam period 4, the library offers UM students extended opening hours from Saturday 14 March – Thursday 2 April. Also check out the new Tapijn Learning Places, the overview of informal study places and bookable rooms within UM campus. Please note: access to both library locations and the new UM Library Learning Spaces at Tapijn with your UMcard only.

Because of the Coronavirus the Tapijn Loods V Learning Spaces and University Sports Centre Learning Spaces are closed.
The Student Hotel cancelled the 24/7 study facility.

Inner City Library

Saturday 14 March: 08.00 – 18.00
Sunday 15 March: 08.00 – 18.00

Until further notice (because of the Coronavirus):
Monday 16 March until Thursday 2 April: 08.00 – 24.00


Randwyck Library

Note the new extended weekend hours during the XXL period:

  • Friday 13 March: 08.30 – 22.00
  • Saturday 14 March: 08.30 – 18.00
  • Sunday 15 March: 12.00 – 18.00


Until further notice (because of the Coronavirus):

  • Friday 20 March: 08.30 – 22.00
  • Sunday 15 March: 12.00 – 20.00
  • Saturday 21 March: 08.30 – 20.00
  • Sunday 22 March: 12.00 – 20.00
  • Friday 27 March: 08.30 – 22.00

Monday – Thursday: regular opening hours

Tapijn Learning Spaces

From 2 March you are welcome to study in the brand new Tapijn Learning Spaces.

  • Provisional opening hours: Mon – Fri 08.00 – 18.00
    (hours will be extended in the near future)
  • Visiting address: Tapijn Kazerne 11
  • House rule: Eating only in the Conservatory
  • Don’t forget to bring your UMcard for access


What about Loods V at Tapijn and Bonnefanten? 

The Tapijn Loods V Learning Spaces are closed at the moment because of the Coronavirus.

The Bonnefanten Learning Spaces has been closed on Friday 28 February.

Preparing for your exams? Busy in the University Library? Check out all 1800 informal study spaces available during the whole academic year at the Maastricht University Campus, mapped by the University Library. You can use these spots if you want to study with your own device; there is a WiFi connection. Please note: the opening hours may differ from the library opening hours. Bookable rooms within UM Campus

If classrooms at faculties are not used for education purposes, you can reserve them to study via the Student Portal in ‘Book a Room’. You can also find other bookable rooms within UM buildings in this system.
