The Netherlands eScience Center is organising a workshop in May. The topic is “Parallel Programming in Python”. The workshop is open and free to all researchers in the Netherlands.
This workshop will be delivered in person unless new COVID-19 restrictions are put in place. The workshop will take place at Matrix III, Science Park 402, 1098 XH Amsterdam.
Parallel Programming in Python

9:30 – 17:00 CEST, Matrix III, Science Park 402, 1098 XH Amsterdam
This is an intermediate-level course teaching the basics of Parallel Programming in Python.
Participants will learn to recognise problems that are suitable for parallel processing and get hands-on experience with optimising inner loops and abstracting parallelism using Dask, Numba, and Snakemake.

Who: The participant should be:
- familiar with basic Python: control flow, functions, NumPy
- comfortable working in Jupyter
- (Recommended) understand how NumPy and/or Pandas work
