Research Ethics & Integrity – UM General PhD Trainings

In this interactive session, you will discuss the principles of research integrity as they relate to your own research with PhD students from other disciplines.

Learning goals
• The students will be introduced to Questionnable Research Practices
• The students will familiarise themselves further with the principles of the Code of Conduct
• The students will learn about best practices regarding ethics and integrity

Target group: All PhD candidates are highly encouraged to participate in the training programme. It is mandatory to participate for internal and external PhD candidates that started after January 1st 2024. This course is intended for Maastricht University PhD candidates only. 

Prerequisites: To participate in this interactive session, the online modules associated with science communication need to be completed. These modules are accessible through the UM general PhD trainings website.

!Important!: Please bring your answers from the online modules to the interactive session. If you miss more than half an hour of this training session, your attendance will not be registered.

Registration: The session is offered in an online setting or in an on-site setting. In the online setting priority will be given to external PhD students. Please note that on-site sessions can always be converted to an online setting due to unforeseen circumstances. You can cancel your registration up to 5 days before the start of the session. If you fail to do so, we will notify your Graduate School.

Language: English

Practical information: The session may be cancelled if there are too few subscriptions. We strive to notify you about cancellations a few days in advance.

Location: This session will take place online via Zoom. You will find the Zoom-link in the confirmation email after booking your spot.
