Download Teams
You can download Teams via the official Microsoft Teams website. It is also possible to use Teams on your mobile device or via the browser.
Desktop
Download Teams for Windows or Mac from the official website.
Mobile
Get Teams for iOS or Android from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Web
Use Teams directly in your browser at teams.microsoft.com.
Log in to Teams
After downloading Teams you can log in with your Maastricht University username and password.
- Open the Microsoft Teams app or go to the web application.
- Enter your university email address and click “Next”.
- Enter your password and complete any additional sign-in steps.

How to move around in Teams
When you open Teams, you will find a navigation menu on the left. With the help of these icons, you can navigate through Teams.
You can customize this menu by pinning or unpinning these icons (click right mouse).
Activity
The Activity feed shows you everything that has happened in Teams. You will see chat responses, @mentions and meeting invites.
Chat
Via the Chat page you can have private conversations between two or more people outside of teams and channels.
Teams
When you open Teams, you will automatically navigate to the Teams page. This is where you can see all the teams of which you are a member.
UM students can create their own teams. Learn how to create a new team in Teams at Maastricht University.
Calender
In the Calender you can view your scheduled meetings and create new meetings. You can also join a meeting from here.
Calls
You can make audio and video calls to a colleague or peer via the page Calls.
OneDrive
Here you can access all of your documents in OneDrive. Files that have been shared to one of your Teams channels will also be visible here.

Teams comes with a number of build-in apps. You can find all available apps for UM employees and students via the App icon in the left navigation menu.
