At the core of our support are Open Science and the FAIR principles. The acronym stands for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. A description of the FAIR principles provided by Maastricht University (UM) can be found on the UM website. We strive to make research more FAIR, and we can help and support you in this endeavour.

Until recently, the FAIR principles were not directly applicable to software. However, recent advances have led to effectively applying the principles to research software, as described by Groth et al. in their paper Towards FAIR principles for research software, doi: 10.3233/DS-190026. Furthermore, if you would like to know more about FAIR in relation to software, have a look at the Dutch FAIR-software website.
