It’s easy to define the increasing popularity of creating a podcast: it is an accessible way to share knowledge, experience and passion in a creative and authentic manner. It also allows for great educational value, which makes it highly suitable for academia. Recording a podcast as a study assignment, or as an engaging way to inform colleagues about your work field, is becoming more and more common at Maastricht University.

The Maastricht University Library houses two DIY Podcast Studio’s, outfitted with RØDECaster Pro II recording equipment that balances top quality and usability, and an easy to follow, step by step manual.

While the Inner City Library Podcast Studio is wildly popular, budding podcasters may also like the larger studio with a view, on the top floor of the Randwyck Library. It comes with the same premium tech, plus a wall to wall green screen and tripod for video recording. Professional studio lighting will be added this month.

We look forward to welcoming you also there and hearing your new podcast! On our website, you can find more information about how to book the DIY Podcast Studio.
