Find your datasets and software collected from repositories worldwide in My Research Information Profile. Here, you can select the items of your choice and they will be registered in the CRIS (Pure) automatically, without you having to (re-)enter metadata.

Why add datasets and software to your CRIS profile?

As datasets and software are usually stored in different repositories worldwide, adding these to your CRIS profile will make them more visible and findable. In addition, you can link them to the related publications to make your research even more transparent.

How does it work?

Data of the source repositories DataCite, OpenAlex and Data Monitor* are regularly downloaded to find Maastricht University datasets and software. These are then matched with your ORCID, Scopus ID or name and shown in your personal overview on the Datasets & software tab of My Research Information Profile. It only provides datasets and software from 2016 onwards that are not registered in the CRIS  yet.

To be able to find your datasets and software, these must contain a DOI.
Also, adding your ORCID to your datasets and software and authenticating this in the CRIS, will make your items more findable in the future.

* Data Monitor is a discontinued service by Elsevier. Data of this project is still available but not updated.

What about datasets from DataverseNL?

DataverseNL is the trusted data repository available for UM researchers. Datasets in DataverseNL are curated by the faculty’s data stewards. Therefore, these datasets are automatically imported into the CRIS every 2 weeks because a precheck before adding these to the CRIS is not necessary.

How can you select your datasets and software?

Go to https://riprofile.library.maastrichtuniversity.nl/ and log in with your UM credentials.

You will find the available datasets and software under “Pure import candidates”.

To view and select an item, click on the “eye” icon in the first column. After selection, the item will be placed in the queue for import into the CRIS

Items in the queue are imported into the CRIS twice a month. Therefore, it can take up to 15 days until your item is processed. During this period you have the possibility to remove the item from the queue.

You can find a link to a detailed manual on the left side of My Research Information Profile.

What happens after the datasets and software are imported into the CRIS?

After importing the dataset or software into the CRIS, your item will be checked and validated by the faculty key user. It will become available on the Research Information portal after validation.
The validation process may differ per faculty. Please contact your faculty key user if you have any questions regarding the visibility of your item on the portal.
