Workshop (in Dutch): Parenting in Connection with Positive Discipline
During this introductory workshop, guided by a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, you will become acquainted with a respectful and effective approach to parenting that fosters both connection and cooperation.
Positive Discipline is based on the work of Alfred Adler and Rudolf Dreikurs. It focuses on raising children through connection, respect, and guidance rather than punishment and rewards.
During this Dutch-speaking introductory workshop, you will be introduced to:
- The basic principles of Positive Discipline
- How to look at children’s behaviour in a new way
- A few practical tools to respond more calmly
- The foundation of building a respectful relationship with your child
This session offers a first insight and starting point, rather than an in-depth exploration.
This approach aligns with the vision of Maria Montessori, where respect for the child, independence, and intrinsic motivation are central.
Target audience
For parents of children aged 0–12 years who are looking for a gentle introduction to more connected parenting.
Special Collections
A small selection of historical works from the Special Collections will be present, including early Montessori writings, texts on sensitive periods, and foundational works on psychology and education by thinkers such as Adler and Freud, offering a brief glimpse into the origins of these ideas.
