​DataverseNL in practice: requirements, workflows, and best practices

This workshop provides an overview of how DataverseNL works, from both the depositor and curator perspectives. Participants will learn the required and recommended steps for dataset deposit, how the review process is handled, and the available options for controlling access and reuse of research data. The session will cover best practices for metadata quality, handling sensitive or anonymised data, applying licences, and updating dataset versions. We will also discuss workflows, technical limitations, and compliance requirements.

The workshop is organised online via Teams. It is for researchers who are users of DataverseNL or plan to make a deposit, as well as UM Dataverse curators. To participate, you need to have a basic idea of research data management in Dataverse or other tools.

Qualitative FAIR data

Qualitative research materials (e.g. interview transcripts, focus groups, policy notes) can benefit from the application of FAIR principles, to enable for discovery and reuse. In this workshop, we focus on relevant regulations and community standards for qualitative research. For example, we learn how different levels of processing of data (e.g. raw vs anonymized data) affect the access levels that can be applied (e.g. open or restricted access).

This workshop is for researchers and academic staff and provided at a beginner level.
