SURF Research Access Management (SRAM) is now providing access to DataHub infrastructure

Cross-institutional collaboration and secure access to data stored at DataHub

29 Apr 2021

Researchers often spend a lot of time arranging secure access to the systems they need for their research. We are happy to announce that SURF Research Access Management (SRAM) is now being used to provide access to the DataHub infrastructure. This new service gives research collaborations fast, easy, and secure access to data stored at DataHub.

National and international collaboration in research is the norm rather than the exception these days. This emphasizes the importance of securely opening up the DataHub infrastructure for collaboration with external parties. DataHub’s research software engineers have been closely involved in the development of SRAM, the new authentication and group management service developed by SURF. SRAM enables collaboration with external users (non-UM/MUMC+), while empowering data stewards to control the collaboration memberships and manage permissions of data stored at DataHub.
