Data sets of DataverseNL now available in NARCIS
More reach for public datasets of UM/MUMC+ researchersPublic data sets in DataverseNL now also available via NARCIS
DataverseNL is one of the preferred repositories for research data storage at UM/MUMC+. Published data sets in DataverseNL have been made available through the Dutch research portal NARCIS recently. You can also find the Institutes that participate in DataverseNL via the NARCIS portal.
DataverseNL
DataverseNL allows data sets to be stored and shared during and after research. This repository is offered jointly by the participating institutions (universities and research institutions) and DANS.
NARCIS
The published datasets in DataverseNL can now also be found in NARCIS. NARCIS is the central national portal providing access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and several research institutes. NARCIS also links to datasets from different data archives, now including DataverseNL
This step fits perfectly in the Open Science and FAIR data policy of Maastricht University. By integrating the metadata of datasets, stored in DataverseNL with scientific publications, findability and accessibility of our research output increases.
The inclusion of datasets in NARCIS results in more links between research publications and research data. If an ORCID is specified in DataverseNL, Narcis will also link the data set with the author’s page.
More information
About NARCIS – National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
About DataverseNL
Maastricht University Library provides DataverseNL as a solution for storage during and after the research project with the ability to make research data publically available (worldwide). Dataverse is developed by the Dataverse Team at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) at Harvard University and is an open-source web application to share, preserve, cite, and explore research data. Sharing data via DataverseNL increases visibility, and researchers receive appropriate credit via a data citation with a persistent identifier. DataverseNL is a project on the national level in a partnership with DANS (KNAW), 9 Dutch Universities, 2 universities of applied science and 3 research institutes.
