We are looking for Facebook editors

The University Library is looking for two or three library students to assist us in our daily communication towards students and help us make UM Library’s Facebook page a success.

About the Facebook task


  • manage our daily Facebook communication
  • make posts during your library shifts at the information desk in the Inner City Library, the Randwyck Library or Tapijn Learning Spaces
  • work in a team, with shared responsibility, for 4 flexible hours per week
  • devide working days/weeks by mutual agreement (split the job)
  • create posts, make suggestions for new topics and series and implement them
  • check our Facebook communication calendar for topics / Facebook shared mailbox for content
  • screen the Online Library for student related information
  • work with a library laptop or your own device(s)
  • search for contributing images / make photos in the front office
  • have affinity with a photo editing programme (Photoshop is available via UM Library).




  • are a UM library student
  • speak/write fluent English with good writing skills
  • know ins and outs about social media and are an experienced Facebook user
  • are familiar with our library services
  • are proactive, creative and a team player, committed and motivated
  • can ensure continuity in posts following a set plan and spot opportunities.



  • you already have a InterUM contract for Team Information
  • flexible working hours (by mutual agreement)

Please add two imaginary Facebook posts, both with an image, which will show us your creativity, fresh ideas, tone of voice. Select a library related topic that might be interesting to know for your fellow students.
