Working towards the academic library of the future

We are pleased to share a selection of our projects and activities from the past year on our Highlights 2025 web page. With scientific information at the core of our work, we focus on making knowledge accessible and supporting Maastricht University’s (UM) students, teachers, and researchers, as well as our wider network of partners, in achieving their academic goals.

This year, our Highlights are organised into eleven themes, providing insight into what occupied us throughout 2025. From innovations in our Digital Labs and Open Science initiatives to ongoing activities that underpin our services, these themes highlight a broad selection of our work. Collaboration remains at the heart of everything we do, as none of these achievements would have been possible without the dedication of our library colleagues, faculty members, azM/MUMC+, Academie Verloskunde, Open Universiteit, Brightlands campuses and other partners both within and beyond UM. We warmly invite you to explore our Highlights 2025.

We hope these Highlights not only showcase the added value of our services within the academic community, but also inspire continued collaboration as we work together to further strengthen and innovate our services in the years ahead.

Did you know...

... that the UM Library team supporting digital exams is now called Team Digital Exams (DexUM)? We have introduced this clear and concise name to avoid confusion caused by the various names used in the past. While our name has changed, our support and contact details remain the same.
