Key Deadline: 30 June 2026. From that day onward, several legacy API endpoints will be fully deprecated and will return a 404 error (page not found) code.
Users who rely on these endpoints are advised to take action well in advance to avoid disruptions.

What is changing?

Qualtrics is phasing out all legacy Research Core Contacts endpoints, along with a number of specific XM Directory API functionalities. The changes include:

  • Research Core Contacts
All legacy endpoints in this category will be removed. Users must migrate to the equivalent XM Directory endpoints.
  • Transactions
The endpoint “Get Transaction Contacts Import Summary” will be replaced by “Get Transaction Contacts Import Status”.
  • Contact Frequency Rules
All endpoints for retrieving, creating, updating, and deleting frequency rules will be discontinued, with no direct replacement available.
  • Samples and Segments
Endpoints related to sample definitions and segment memberships will be removed entirely and should be eliminated from scripts.

In addition, several XM Directory endpoints related to contact frequency rules, sample management, segment exports, and transaction summaries will no longer be supported.

How can you prepare?

If you or your team use the Qualtrics API, the Library strongly recommends the following steps:

  1. Audit existing scripts
Review any active integrations to identify use of deprecated endpoints.
  2. Consult the migration guide
Qualtrics provides a detailed migration guide (available in English) outlining replacement endpoints and required changes.
  3. Update and test before the deadline
Ensure that all updates are implemented and tested—preferably in a staging environment—well ahead of 30 June 2026 to prevent interruptions or data issues.
