What is SURF Snellius?
Snellius facilitates scientific research carried out at many universities, independent research institutes, governmental organisations, and private companies in the Netherlands.

Snellius is a cluster of heterogeneous computer nodes with capabilities for high performance computing (parallel, symmetric multiprocessing), data-processing, and machine learning. The system has several system-specific storage resources, that are geared towards supporting the various types of computing. It has a peak performance of 14 petaflop/s, making it the most powerful high-performance computing system in the Netherlands.

How to get started:
If you’re interested in testing Snellius for your research, contact the Research Computing Support (RCS) team via rcs-ub@maastrichtuniversity.nl to book an intake meeting. We’ll guide you through the application process and help you get started.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience national-level computing infrastructure and determine if Snellius meets your research needs.
