What is DataverseNL
DataverseNL is a data repository available to Maastricht University researchers. It allows you to publish or register research data during your research project and after its completion, ensuring your data is discoverable, citable and accessible to future research in line with the FAIR principles.
DataverseNL at UM in 2024
In 2024, UM researchers published 98 datasets in DataverseNL, bringing the total to 669 published datasets, demonstrating the university’s ongoing commitment to FAIR data handling. In 2024, most deposits were made at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHML) and the United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), with 37 and 25 datasets published, respectively.
Maximising visibility and impact
To further enhance the visibility of your research, it’s good practice to register your metadata in UM’s Current Research Information System (CRIS) and link it to your ORCID profile. This increases the findability of your data, ensuring proper credit for your work and promoting recognition for non-traditional research outputs and open science practices. This can especially be beneficial for you during annual appraisals (UM career compass), grant proposals, and to your organisation when it has to show output and impact. Currently, metadata registration of data in CRIS is done manually.
