Details and conditions of the licence

An author can publish Open Access without paying article processing charges (APC) starting 1 August 2022 under the following conditions:

  • The corresponding author must be affiliated with Maastricht University or Maastricht UMC+.
  • The corresponding author must use the affiliation’s email account to publish open access without paying APC. For the publisher, the corresponding author is the submitting author.
  • The agreement applies to 28 AIPP hybrid* journals. See our Open Access Journal Browser for an overview, or use it to search for a specific journal.
  • The agreement covers the following article types: research articles and updates, reviews, brief communications, communication conference articles, fast tracks of article-FT, letters, notes, roadmaps, perspectives and tutorials.
  • We have already arranged reading access to the journals as of 1 January 2022. The start date of our agreement for the OA publishing part is 1 August 2022. 
  • Open access publishing through this deal is Plan S compliant.
