Following a successful first round, a second round of the OpenUP Grant opens on 18 May 2026, bringing new opportunities to ‘OpenUp’ your teaching materials and contribute to more accessible and inclusive education.  This is your chance to license your materials, ‘OpenUp’, and develop engaging educational resources. You can also collaborate with your students to create open, accessible learning tools or materials that foster a more inclusive educational experience.

Have a look at some of the results: an AI-powered conversation tool for exam preparationan open textbook on legal network analysis, showing law students how to map connections between cases and statutes using data, and an open textbook on the challenges of psychological measurement. Funding details

A total of €60,000 is available, distributed as twelve grants of €5,000 each (two per faculty). This funding will be awarded to projects that align with Maastricht University’s commitment to Open Science. The OpenUP Grant is made possible by Npuls.
