In 2012 the University Library and the School of Business and Economics joint forces in setting up a digital platform for both students and supervisors that would, ideally, lead to a smoother writing process and therefore speedier graduation.

To find out if the Thesis SupportAll was hitting the mark, a survey was held, which was completed by over 100 people.

The results were promising and very helpful; those who used the portal remarked positively on the contents, yet to increase the number of users more promotion is definitely needed. We will use all feedback to improve the portal within the near future.

The IPod Mini raffled off amongst the student participants of the survey was won by Manon Hovens (FHML). Congratulations!

Quotes from the survey:

Improvements:

Add a link to the UM Catalogue section where theses from previous academic years are uploaded

More detailed information on academic writing

Add specific demands from the different faculties

Positive feedback:

Good way to get going when motivation is low

It explains the structure you need in your thesis

Pretty easy to navigate

Tips for procrastination and writer’s block: not something I was looking for, but nevertheless very helpful

You can check out the Thesis SupportAll yourself!
